Growing up in the outer western suburbs we used to eat this style of Chinese a lot. Moving to an area many years later which is predominantly asian I often miss this Aussie style Chinese especially when it’s done really well. Super basic interior and definitely no frills. We just got takeaway on this occasion. The salt and pepper pork ribs are amazing and the fried rice also stood out. Prices are really reasonable and quality was good. Free prawn crackers a bonus.
its cheap and its clean...family owned and run. They go to the effort to make you feel welcome. The salt and pepper pork ribs are to die for. Very lean and not oily, nice with the fried rice. Its not a fancy restaurant very basic in decor....its somewhere to go if you want a fairly priced meal of a decent quality. The lunch specials are cheap and portion sizes are generous....
Great chinese food and service. We became regular customers ever since our friends introduced us to this restaurant three years ago. And we've recommended it to our family and other friends, and they too became regulars :). Two dishes that we always have when we dine there is the combination chow mein and the salt & pepper pork. It's hard to find a chinese restaurant that serves good chow mein and this place do it well. The noodles that we order is the soft noodles which is crunchy and not too oily. They are also generous in portion with the chow mein's meat (pork, beef, prawns and chicken) and veggies. Their salt and pepper pork is served in a bed of 'krupuk' (like prawn crackers) style noodles with onions, garlic and a bit of chilli, has a good balance of crunch and chewiness and it's perfectly partnered with their black vinegar sauce. For people watching their sodium intake, they can also lessen the salt. The ladies, Jaime and Anita, who takes the orders are always friendly and helpful. This place is a bit of a trek as well from where we live but if we want some good Chinese food this place is it!.
